  1. Fire Agate is a layered stone. The classes are small enough that the light forms of interference colors such as "fire command known." The gem is believed to form when hot water saturated with colloidal silica and iron oxide invades cavities in country rock and begins to cool. Chalcedony with iron oxide begins to grow on any surface (iron oxide, the basic brown color) around the bead. As the solutions began to precipitate and grow layers of silicon and iron oxide is deposited on the basis of the relative contribution of the components of the solution and the underlying conditions. These alternating layers of silicon and iron oxide (lead Schiller layers), the fire seems to paint. When iron oxide in the solution is not colorless chalcedony continued to grow.

Many of these treasures are in Kingman, AZ, Needles, California. Near the Colorado River. Ask GG Golden Valley, AZ. Fire Agate has also been found in quantity in certain regions of Mexico.

Fire Agate Fire AgateCutting setbacks in principle the natural process of grinding and polishing away layers, Follbecause the natural contours, until only the fire is visible. As you can imagine, however, a level too far and the stone is ruined.
