How often after donating whole blood can I donate platelets? What about plasma? - how often can one donate double red blood donation
Today I donated blood at 9 clock. I know I must wait 56 days before the gift of another blood donation. But how long should I wait to give platelets? How long does it take to donate plasma? I also have another question: What is required: plasma or platelets? (I would like to donate double red cells, but I'm too small and not hard enough).

It takes about 8 weeks for your body to replenish all the cells of the blood collected after donating a unit of blood. So we must wait 56 days. This period is for donations * * later. If you regularly with plasma or platelets is 7-14 days each, depending on the blood center to donate. But we must wait 56 days before plasma or platelets can donate. The period between donations are always begins with the gift and looked at the type of donation are not counted on the back of the next donation. In other words, if you donate whole blood or red blood cells from 56 days to wait before they blood for all the products that you can not donate plasma if you have not given blood for over the last 7 days. ReplyDeleteLike, what is needed most, plasma and platelets are in great demand because they are used for other things. One thing to keep in mind: FDA (USA) has limitations, as you introduced the plasma of women. Like any woman who became pregnant, may HAVand an antibody that can cause a severe reaction in a tank. If you are a woman, if you are pregnant or not, the plasma can not be directly transfused into any patient. It will be used for research or to test responsiveness or certain medicines. If you are interested in saving lives, put directly on platelets. If you are a man, I'm sorry, and you can ignore.
Thank you for donating blood!
